Hans Holbein the Younger (1497- 1543)

Holbein was a German artist who became the court painter for Henry VIII. He was known for his very precise likenesses. `The Ambassadors` ( can be seen at the Tate) has many symbolic references, including the strange distorted skull.

Busy day at Weston Favell Centre in Northampton

Enjoyed drawing these 2 lovely girls at Weston Favell last Saturday. The girl with the bun sat like a statue for me - maybe a career as a model? The girl with the long hair ( OK I did get a bit carried away!) was on her break from working a till at Tesco.
I will be at The Broadwalk in Edgware this weekend - 22nd & 23rd July.Then Luton Mall the next week - 28th & 29th.

Sir Anthony van Dyke (1599-1641)

For my money one of the greatest portrait artists of all time, if not the greatest of them all. He deserved his job as the court painter to King Charles 1st. His triple portrait of him was for Bernini in Rome to help in sculpting a bust.

People come from all over the world for the visual feast of Antoni Gaudi`s (1852-1926) fantastic buildings.Deriving from his passionate religous faith & his love of nature, his buildings are inspired by organic, natural forms. Totally original, like something from a fairy tale. The Sagrada Familia is his biggest project, that is still not finished,it is estimated to be completed in 2026 as in the imagined aerial view photo.

Drawings from Weston Favell, Northampton.

I drew young Luke on Friday, a fan of Chelsea & Eden Hazard.Add caption
I did a group charcoal portrait of these charming half-sisters . They were having a re-union, the 2 on the left live in the USA and the other in Northampton. Despite sharing the same father there is not a lot of resemblence.Add caption
